Inspired by the motifs and style of toile de jouy, the depicted oak, pine and walnut trees are drawn and printed as if taken from the traditional French cloth. Coloured in deep shades of indigo blue, burgundy and olive green, the pattern is shown on a canvas of white organic cotton batiste, well known for its lightness and semi-sheer finish. The reverse is printed with a miniature linear motif reminiscent of shadow play
