Product Description

Product Details

Our Wax Resist Mug in Teal Blue has been specially crafted from Cape clay in South Africa and is characterised by its stout shape and chunky ergonomic handle.

The graphic geometric design which decorates the outside of the mug is formed from the negative space created using a wax resist technique, where wax is applied to the piece before a colourful glaze and then removed to reveal the true colour of the clay beneath. For this piece, a vibrant teal blue glaze has been applied.

Our Wax Resist mugs are part of our Serenity trend for Spring/Summer 2024, which aims to bring a refreshing simplicity to contemporary home accessories. The abstract design embraces the organic patterns and shapes found in landscapes which inspired the collection.

Care Instructions

Suitable for use in a dishwasher.

To prolong the lifespan of ceramics we recommend handwashing using a soft cloth or sponge and mild dish soap. Dry pieces thoroughly after washing using a soft towel.

If using a dishwasher, we recommend using a low-temperature cycle and taking care not to overstack, ensuring there is space between the pieces, and there are no sharp objects that could scratch or chip the surface.

Not suitable for use in a microwave, freezer, or oven.

Abrasive sponges, scourers, or products should not be used.

To reduce the risk of staining we recommend rinsing mugs after use. Tea or coffee stains in mugs can normally be removed using a baking soda paste. Make a thick paste by mixing baking soda and water in the mug, and rub the mix into the stained area using a sponge. Alternatively any cream based cleaner such as a hob cleaner or Bar Keepers Friend. Clean thoroughly before use.

If storing for prolonged periods, napkins or paper towels can be placed between pieces to reduce the risk of scratching.

If a piece of ceramic shows any sign of damage such as a crack or chip, we recommend to stop using it as damaged ceramics can suddenly fail and cause injury.
