The name Pedralonga literally means Big Rock in Spanish and this is where the 7.5 acre estate has its vines planted on the side of a granitic hill on the Gallician cost of Spain. In 1982 Francesco Alfonso founded the estate. The crops are organically farmed and everything is done in accordance with nature. Aged worthy, mineral and fine expressions.PWS
Vivid ruby. Pungent cherry and dark berry aromas show good clarity and pick up a suggestion of musky earth with air. Nicely concentrated and fleshy on the palate, offering subtly sweet red and dark fruit flavours, along with sweet chewing tobacco and black tea qualities. Shows gentle grip and spicy thrust on the persistent finish, which features even tannins and a subtle floral nuance. JOSH RAYNOLDS
