Aux Fourneaux is split between Premier Cru (top half) and Village status where the vines begin to level out. The Rapet's own vines in both sectors so this Villages has been bolstered by 1er fruit (but is declassified to a villages).

¿ A light bouquet, prettily floral, continuing through to the back of the palate. Good fruit acid balance with some charm and length. JASPER MORRIS MW

The name suggests it's from a warm site (fourneaux meaning ovens), but it's not. It's referring to the charcoal ovens which¿. A mix of rosehip, spiced red cherries with accents of rosemary and cigar boxes lure you in. The delineation of fruit and freshness on this Savigny les Beaune is a drawcard. A spine of raspy tannins ribs out around the nervy core of fruit. It's charming and a more finessed SLB in the making. GABRIELLE POY
