Cullen Wines are based in Margaret River, their vineyards planted in the ancient soils of Wilyabrup and are the only biodynamic and carbon-neutral winery in the region.

Lead by Vanya Cullen, who was awarded the Order of Australia (OAM) for her services to viticulture and oenology (her father, Dr Kevin John Cullen and mother, Diana Madeline Cullen, were

awarded an OAM in the 1990s), Cullen Wines produce some of the country¿s most prestigious, age-worthy and characterful wines. Specialising in classic varietals and blends, wines to drink and cellar, there is a wine for every person and occasion. PWS

One of the pioneers of Margaret River, and has always produced long-lived wines of highly individual style from the mature estate vineyards. The vineyard has progressed beyond organic to biodynamic certification and, subsequently, has become the first vineyard and winery in Australia to be certified carbon neutral. This requires the calculation of all of the carbon used and carbon dioxide emitted in the winery; the carbon is then offset by the planting of new trees. Winemaking is in the hands of Vanya Cullen, daughter of the founders; she is possessed of an extraordinarily good palate. Deep bright purple-red colour leading into a stylish bouquet of sweet mulberry and other berry fruits, violets and cassis, succulent and mouth-filling, with masses of fine emery-like tannins that run the length of the palate adding authority, structure, length and refreshment to the aftertaste.
