This little estate, more than any other, has given me the realisation of another dimension to Champagne, one in which minerality assumes a personality of its own
TYSON STELZER, The Champagne Guide 2020-2021 The Cuvee de Reserve sees a generous 40% addition of reserve wines. And, these reserve wines are like no other. The perpetual blend dates back to 1988, each year 50% of their famed Les Chetillons crop is added to replenish the portion drawn off. It's kept in a mix of stainless steel, concrete tanks and large old oak. Most producers would choose just one vessel to store their reserves, but this mixture plays to Rodolphe's attention to detail. Stainless steel to preserve the fruitiness, concrete tanks for the earthiness and oak for the creaminess. It's these subtle differences that add nuance and verve to the Cuvee de Reserve.
