The history of Brigatti¿s estate began in the early 1900s when Alessandro Brigatti, Francesco¿s grandfather, the current proprietor, started to plant some vines to complement the cultivation of cereals. The great passion for wine was the driver that fostered Alessandro to start searching for a suitable plot of land to plant his own vineyard. During his quest he came across a gently rolling hill, exposed to the south and with a soil rich in clay. ¿Love at first sight¿ that¿s what it was! He definitely showed a keen eye as that spot is one of the best hills in the area, also known as Mötzilfon.       Driven by a strong passion for viticulture, Luciano, Alessandro¿s son, gets at the helm of the estate at the end of the 50¿s, leaving his job as accountant and investing every penny in the vineyard and the winery. Today Francesco Brigatti is proprietor of 15 acres of vineyard to which he applies the Integrated Pest Management criteria as a key part of his vision of a sustainable agriculture. Today the overall annual production stands at 30,000 bottles.

This peculiar, single-varietal red comes from the vinification of the best bunches of Vespolina grapes from our vineyards. Vespolina is the indigenous grape variety of Alto Piemonte by definition, the wine we make out of it Is deep ruby with violet reflections when young. Floral and red berries are the main aromas and flavours that complement the typical spicy note. This wine gives its best if served at a temperature around 15/16°C. ¿As the embodiment of our territory, the Vespolina has a very limited extent and it is difficult to grow. In its chemical composition lies the Rotundone, the same molecule on which the peppercorn aroma is based. This explains the traditional spicy footprint that makes this wine lively, fresh and youthful. Definitely a unique wine that evokes bygone old traditions BRIGGATE ESTATE
