Vinified with a touch more new oak than the Gevrey villages (40%), this is an altogether deeper and denser expression of Gevrey, but one that is very smart. It will be wonderful in 5-10 years but can also drink well now in a decanter and with the right food.
"There is a distinct floral character to the earthy and overtly sauvage nose that consists mostly of various red berry fruit scents that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is good richness and slightly better mid-palate density to the delicious and sappy medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a youthfully austere but well-balanced finale. This vibrant effort should also drink well young if desired." 89-91 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Issue 61
