Product Details
Style: Savoury & Detailed
As with a few of the Braida wines, they are so-called for the eccentric locals who lived near the vineyard sites. In this case 'Bigotta' was named for a religious woman who valued the appearance of piousness rather than the substance of it. This wine is from a single vineyard which is one of the top sites in Rocchetta Tanaro. Giacomo Bologna, the late founder of Braida and the pioneer of Barbera as a variety to be recognised as an age-worthy fine red wine, ensured his legacy with the creation of this wine. Keep a bottle of Bricco della Bigotta for 20 years and you will be handsomely rewarded.
The wine is generous, voluptuous and full-bodied with a multidimensional structure, perfectly balanced between the grape characteristics and high quality oak, with a persistent long finish.
