Rocks & Minerals It's a family affair at Frankland estate, run by Hunter Smith and brother-in-law Brian Kent. Founded by Judi Cullam and Barrie Smith who planted the vines with quality and site expression the focus. Hunter and Brian follow on this legacy who have now transformed their farm to organics and concentrate on their three tiers of wines: the single sites, estate and the flagships. Based 3 hours inland from Margaret River this high altitude, cool-climate location is ideal for producing some of Western Australia's (and the countries) finest Riesling and shiraz wines.

The Isolation Ridge Riesling comes from a dry-grown, low yielding site which allows the grapes to express complex flavour whilst retaining natural acidity. Seriously delicious, modern-style Australian Riesling that deserves all the acclaim it receives. Grapefruit and lime dominate aromatically with ripe white peach and red apples on the palate. The ripeness is poised by the fresh acidity and mineral backbone that drives the wine to absolute completeness. PWS
