At the beginning of the last century, Domaine Bonfils was divided between the cultivation of vines and olive trees. Over the years and generations, the vineyard has grown. In 1970, Rolande, Stéphanie's grandmother, began marketing her wine in bottles with great success. In 1985 it was his daughter Aline who developed and modernized the farm by choosing sustainable in collaboration with an agricultural engineer and by adhering to the HACCP qualitative approach since 2002. In 2007, it was the turn of Stéphanie Fumoso, daughter of Aline, to take up the torch from these women who gave so much to the Domaine. Since 2018, Paul Fumoso, son of Stéphanie, has joined the Domaine to perpetuate the family tradition. DOMAINE GOUR DE CHAULE

The promising 2022 Gigondas Cuvée Tradition 1871 mixes 80% Grenache with the remainder equally split between Syrah and Mourvèdre. Glossy red fruits mingle with dashes of dried herbs and a splash of rosewater. Refreshing acidity neatly balances the moderate fruit concentration, persisting all the way through to the sapid finish. This is a lovely Gigondas. VINOUS
