DOMAINE DES BOSQUETS GIGONDAS RÉSERVE 2022

Named after a lieu-dit in Gigondas called Bosquets. The oldest documented building at the domain's current location dates back to 1644 so plenty of history to look back on. A renovated tower from this period is situated near the domain. In the latter half of the 1800s the property was for a period owned by Eugène Raspail, who built Chateau Raspail in Gigondas a benchmark estate. Domaine des Bosquets was bought in 1962 by the legendary Gabriel Meffre. It's his grandson Julien Brechet, who runs the domain today. The estate covers 26 ha of Gigondas. The number of different cuvées have escalated in resent years - representing the different terroirs of the vineyards. Julian is quickly becoming one of the better up and coming winemakers in the region. 

Fruit for the reserve cuvee comes from various sights and altitudes within the limits of the domaine. It has a nose of ripe blackberries, strawberries and violets with sweet spice and cocoa nib ¿ also provencal herbs and roasting juices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well structured with savoury tannins, bright acidity and full bodied finish. PWS
