One of the pioneers of Margaret River, and has always produced long-lived wines of highly individual style from the mature estate vineyards. The vineyard has progressed beyond organic to biodynamic certification and, subsequently, has become the first vineyard and winery in Australia to be certified carbon neutral. This requires the calculation of all of the carbon used and carbon dioxide emitted in the winery; the carbon is then offset by the planting of new trees. Winemaking is in the hands of Vanya Cullen, daughter of the founders; she is possessed of an extraordinarily good palate. This very refined and harmonious cabernet sauvignon is the result of careful attention to detail in the vineyard and winery. Aromas of redcurrants, blueberries, mulberries, fresh-picked roasting herbs, violets and cedar make a complex impression on the nose. The palate has finely stitched tannin texture and such vibrant red and blueberry flavours. The long, refined and focused tannins are full of energy. Elegant and flavourful. Just 12.5% abv.
