Founded in 1986, Bellenda produce Proseccos which are pure and fine, speaking of their slopes in the Veneto. They're fanatical in their approach to quality, the grapes are organically farmed, yields are kept low and unlike the huge Charmat tanks you'll find in towering production facilities across the region, Bellenda bottle ferment their Proseccos. Everything they do here is done so with a push towards making high quality wines that express their sites and the results speak for themselves. The Bellenda crew are a bunch of crazy cats trying to start a small revolution in Prosecco. They are hell-bent on upping the quality. Firstly the property is located in the DOCG zone on the hills surrounding Carpesica, the heart of quality in the region, where as the bulk standard prosecco you see littering shelves all over the world tends to be grown down on the flats outside of the traditional area. Fesh cut yellow apple and dried flowers overlay a hint of quartz twang. Delicate but persistent bubbles that open to a salty and savory note finished with a little preserved lemon. This is deliciously dry and super refreshing. It definitely runs to a more serious style but has plenty of fruit to be enjoyed without thinking too hard.
