The origins of Champagne Apollonis can be traced back through Michel Loriots family to the 17th Century when his ancestors started growing vines in 1675. Since then, 12 generations have followed including Paymyre and Leopold who built the villages very first Press House in 1903. The current day Loriot family is made up of Michel, his wife Martine, their daughter Marie and her husband Alban, who is in charge of production. This small, family run estate is producing high quality, minimal intervention cuvees and, as far as we know, Michel Loriot is the only Champagne producer who broadcasts classical music in his vineyards and cellars. Found in the small village of Festigny, the Apollonis Estate owns 7 hectares of vines comprising 20 or so seperate plots planted for the most part with Pinot Meunier some Chardonnay and a little Pinot Noir. The Estate has been awarded the High Environmental Value Certificate, the highest award recognising respect and care for the land, the environment and its biodiversity.
