Seki City has been the heart of Japanese cutlery making since the 13th century and for over 112 years, Shun has been able to call this city home. We strive to carry on these handcrafted traditions, combined with premium materials and state-of-the-art technologies, completing over 100 individual steps for each piece of fine cutlery that is produced. The inspiration for our brand name comes from the Japanese tradition of ‘shun’ – the time when an ingredient is at its peak, perfectly ripe and most flavourful. Shun knives are suitable for home cooks and professional chefs alike, celebrating seasonal and mindful cooking in all kitchens.
