Nestled among the rolling patchwork fields on the beautiful coastline of Northern Tasmania, you'll find one of the state's coolest wine regions - the Cradle Coast, also known as the North West Wine Region. We're located just 15 minutes from Devonport where the Spirit of Tasmania docks, and offer one of Tasmanias most unique food and wine experiences. So the story goes, there once was a hill just west of the Summerhill Park turnoff on the Port Sorell Main Road. There was a steep pinch where horses slowed and cyclists were obliged to dismount and walk. The hill received its name last century because of events claimed to have occurred around a large rock situated beside the road. Several versions of the name¿s origin have appeared, perhaps each version being somewhat embellished. But the following is vouched for by elderly residents.
From our organically farmed vineyard. Planted in 2014 and converted to organics in 2019, this vineyard is exclusively planted to Pinot Noir. Its sheltered northern slope and well-drained loam on sand soils provide the ideal backdrop for outstanding Pinot Noir growing. And at just over 2 hectares in size, it¿s managed through a vine-to-vine program that ensures our organics approach is fully realised. Wild ferment, no additions, no fining, no filtration. Minimal SO2 added at bottling. GHOST ROCK
